Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, one of the new "eight top scenic spots in Guangzhou," attracts worldwide visitors to tick off. It is also a stunning landscape for shooting pictures.
The highlight of Lingnan's characteristic architecture is the roof, with exquisite layers of gray and pottery sculptures, telling stories of traditional Cantonese myths and legends.
You can observe vivid animals, mythological figures and lively flowers and fruit trees on the roof.
Whether viewed from far or near, the roof of the ancestral hall is a three-dimensional and delicate comic scroll, silently staging a wonderful story.
The most popular statue is a pair of one-horned lions, standing on the hanging ridge, quietly guard a side of peace. Its naive smile captured hearts of visitors.
The gorgeous gray and pottery sculptures on the roof are only the "tip of the iceberg" in the architectural art of Chen Ancestral Hall.
